Swimming pools can last quite a long time if you take care of them. In fact, both fiberglass and concrete pools have a lifetime warranty on the pool shell, and most have a 15-20 year warranty on the finish. 

The time it takes to install a pool can vary depending the complexity of the project. However, most fiberglass pools take 3-4 weeks to install while concrete pools take 2-3 months to install. 

There are a number of materials available for constructing a swimming pool, but fiberglass and concrete are usually considered the two best options. 

Anyone that ones a swimming pool and has young children should be careful to protect their children. You also need to know that there is a risk assumed with having a swimming pool. 

However, there are several things you can do to make a swimming pool more safe for children: 

1. Put a fence around your swimming pool

2. Add a safety cover if possible

3. Alarms that sound when a person or animal enters the pool.

4. Self-locking gates

5. Gradual slope from the shallow to deep end of the pool.
