Doylestown, PA is located in an area that was originally inhabited by the Lenape people, a Native American tribe. In March 1745, William Doyle obtained a license to build a tavern, and Doylestown was born. The town continued to grow, adding a post office in 1802 and its first church in 1815. Doylestown became a borough in 1838. The 2010 census found a population of 8,380 people.
