“Planning through completion of the project, it was easy, smooth, and we felt confident. The crews on site are willing to walk through everything and adjust if needed. This is an important point since seeing something on paper doesn’t always translate to real life as the plan unfolds. Michael, Steve, and their respective crews were wonderful to work with and really seem to enjoy their craft. You won’t be disappointed!”

“Keystone did an absolutely amazing job on our new deck and patio. From the design side all the way through construction, they were professional, transparent, and helped make our dream backyard come true. These guys are extremely hard-working and the work they did in a timely manner is truly remarkable. My wife and I were impressed every day at how much his team was able to accomplish, and the final result speaks for itself. I’ll recommend Keystone to anyone considering doing an outdoor project, and if you get Daniel’s crew count yourself lucky!”

Building a porch in the Lehigh Valley means planning outdoor spaces that need to work just as well in summer as they do during Pennsylvania winters. Our porch builders help homeowners throughout the Lehigh Valley create comfortable, practical additions that complement their homes’ architecture. Whether an aging porch needs to be replaced or a home needs a new outdoor gathering space, careful attention to layout, materials, drainage, structural support, and everyday usability can make a substantial difference. A well-planned porch provides more than additional square footage outdoors. It can create a welcoming entrance, provide shade and weather protection, and give families a comfortable place to relax while improving the property’s appearance and functionality.

History of the Lehigh Valley

The Lehigh Valley’s history is closely connected to the development of Lehigh and Northampton counties. Northampton County was established in 1752 from part of Bucks County, with Easton becoming its county seat at the confluence of the Delaware and Lehigh rivers. The original county was considerably larger than it is today, and portions were eventually divided to create other Pennsylvania counties. Lehigh County was created in 1812, with Allentown serving as its county seat. Named for the Lehigh River, the county developed alongside a transportation corridor that became important for moving anthracite coal, iron, limestone, and other materials. During the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the broader Lehigh Valley became an important American industrial center. Bethlehem Steel helped make the Bethlehem area synonymous with steelmaking, while Northampton County also became nationally significant for cement production. Manufacturing shaped communities, transportation networks, and generations of local employment. Following the decline of heavy industry, former industrial sites and historic communities found new roles in tourism, arts, education, recreation, and economic development.
